Alternative power solutions to load-shedding problems
A range of alternative power solutions, to manage the effects of load-shedding, has been made available.
Features such as full load acceptance for critical equipment, make the technology particularly suited to dealing with load-shedding in mines, factories, small businesses and the residential sector.
The portfolio of power solutions offered by Cummins complies with international emission standards and features energy-efficient engines with high fuel-tolerance levels.
The company supplies a range of gensets, including portable engine and alternator generator sets (gensets), from a small 17 kVA genset for residential or commercial use, to a 3 750 kVA unit for mining, data centre, and hospital applications.
Customised training for any engine platform is offered to technicians and clients, at the company’s accredited training facility. In addition, the company supplies solutions for multiple back-up power requirements for large-scale mining operations or factories. It also provides ancillary components, such as air filters, oil filters and coolants.
Cummins power generation sales manager Zivai Zvinokona says, “This is integral to our value proposition, as it not only allows us to offer the highest-quality products, but also to ensure that they are serviced and maintained properly.”
The company supplements its gensets with maintenance contracts of varying duration, depending on the application and specific requirements. These range from simple inspection and cleaning contracts to yearly servicing of standby units.
In addition, it is capable of assisting with the design, installation and commissioning of alternative power solutions, making use of its trained technicians located throughout South Africa and a dealer network that is able to service remote locations.
