A battery-operated grease gun offers a solution for a wide variety of manual lubrication tasks such as the lubrication of bearings and machines in industrial and manufacturing environments as well as agricultural and construction vehicles and equipment.

Featuring a simple design, the SKF TLGB 20 grease gun is a positive displacement single acting pump, driven by a small, low voltage electric motor connected to a gear transmission. The rotary motion of the motor is converted into a reciprocating motion of the plunger using a yoke mechanism. The grease gun can deliver pressures of up to 700 bar and the two-speed flow rate can be adjusted from low- to high-volume to suit the application. The tool can be filled with loose grease (ca. 500 cm) or can be used with standard SKF grease cartridges. The 20 V lithium-ion battery maintains a stable energy output and can dispense up to 15 grease cartridges per charge.

This tool can be used one-handed and includes an integrated grease meter that tracks how much grease has been dispensed to ensure precise lubrication delivery and prevent over- and under-lubrication

Information such as the battery charge level, the amount of grease dispensed as well as the pump or motor speed is indicated on the multi-function LCD display which also alerts the operator to blocked lubrication points or fittings and loss of prime. A vent valve removes trapped air inside the grease gun, aimed at ensuring trouble-free priming.

SKF outlines a number of features of its TLGB 20 grease gun, including:

  • A durable, ergonomic, lightweight design and optimised balance for operator comfort and convenience
  • A three-point stand to keep the grease gun upright for easy handling
  • A built-in LED light illuminates the work area and facilitates the location of grease fittings in dimly lit environments
  • Spring guards that prevent kinks, preserving flex hose life
  • A four-jaw precision-machined coupler to enhance tool durability
  • A filler nipple to facilitate filling from drums using filler pumps

In addition, the company explains that its Grease Filler Pumps (LAGF series) are designed to deliver low-pressure high-stroke volume for quick filling of the grease gun while ensuring optimal cleanliness throughout the filling process and that its easy-to-install filler pumps have been tested and approved for all SKF greases.
