Established in 2018, BFG Africa is a leading composite product designer, engineering and manufacturing company. Advanced Manufacturing Capabilities

The company’s world-class, state-of-the-art facility specialises in a broad range of fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) processes, including open contact moulding / hand lamination, resin transfer moulding, vacuum infusion, sheet moulding compound, press moulding, painting, tool making, systems integration and assembly.

Rolling Stock Front Ends, Interiors and Cabins

BFG Africa’s FRP panels are available in various surface finishes to meet customer specifications, including gelcoat, painted, anti-graffiti coatings, high gloss, low gloss and textured finishes. As a market leader in train interiors, BFG collaborates closely with clients throughout the design and development process to deliver exceptional, high-quality solutions – on time, every time. 

BFG Africa’s esteemed clients include leading original-equipment manufacturers such as Gibela Rail Consortium, which has contracted the company to design, manufacture and deliver interior and exterior components for 600 new commuter trains over ten years. To date, the company has successfully delivered components for more than 270 trainsets. This project was the beginning of an impactful commitment to South Africa. By fostering innovation, creating jobs and enabling mobility, BFG Africa aims to uplift communities and drive economic growth across the continent. In addition to its work with Gibela, the company has also supplied interior components to key engineering contractors and bus body builders, further demonstrating BFG Africa’s versatility and trusted capabilities within the broader transportation industry.
