Representatives from Allmech recently visited the global Wenzhou Runxin Manufacturing Machine Co., headquartered in China, to experience the latest technological developments and decide which new products to bring to the local market.

Allmech is a leading South African manufacturer of boilers and supplier of water treatment components and the only authorised South African agent for Runxin valves.

One of the products that was demonstrated during the visit, which Allmech will be launching locally, is the Runjing Intelligent Irrigation System. Water management is high on the agenda in South Africa, and the Runjing Intelligent Irrigation System will assist in optimising water usage and enhancing irrigation efficiency.

“Smart irrigation is an emerging scientific discipline that leverages data-intensive methods to boost agricultural productivity while minimising environmental impact,” explains Allmech MD, Lionel Maasdorp. “Modern agricultural operations generate data from various sensors, providing better insights into both the operational environment and activities. We are currently testing the household version of the intelligent water irrigation system to ensure connectivity and functioning of the app in local conditions and expect our first shipment of valves this month. We’re also a sample of the agricultural version in October and will progress from there.”

The Runjing Intelligent Irrigation System automates and manages irrigation processes, ensuring plants receive the appropriate amount of water when needed. It features intelligent valves and sensors that monitor soil moisture levels and weather conditions, adjusting irrigation schedules accordingly.

“Visiting the Runxin manufacturing facilities is always a memorable experience,” says Maasdorp. “Their manufacturing capabilities, automation and R&D are truly impressive, and we’re looking forward to bringing this smart irrigation system and other quality Runxin products to our local customers.”
