Mining services company DGC Africa, a member of the Dickson Group, has announced its expansion into the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Zimbabwe, marking a milestone in its growth plan.

DGC Africa’s latest venture includes the opening of a new office in Kolwezi, a key location in the DRC’s mining sector.

“The decision to establish our presence in Kolwezi aligns perfectly with our core philosophy: positioning our experts close to the action to optimise both operations and client interactions,” states the company.

The new facility will position DGC Africa within arm’s reach of major mining opeations, including Kamoa Copper, Glencore and Tenke Fungurume.

“This proximity is not just a logistical advantage, but a strategic asset, enabling us to seamlessly integrate our operations within the local economy and directly engage with the community and stakeholders,” says DGC Africa.

In addition to the new Kolwezi office, DGC Africa has established a joint venture (JV) with SARENS, a leader in crane rental services. Operating as SARENS DGC, the partnership will expand the company’s offerings, combining DGC’s structural, mechanical, piping and platework capabilities with SARENS’ extensive crane rental services.

In a parallel move, the company has established DGCA Zimbabwe, a JV with Browhill Trading. The new entity is set to enhance DGC’s service delivery within Zimbabwe’s mining and metals smelting industries. DGCA Zimbabwe will operate on a service-based model, focusing on aligning its operations with local market dynamics and building strong relationships with local businesses and authorities.

The expansion extends beyond the DRC and Zimbabwe, with DGC Africa’s AssetPro Solutions Localisation Partnership model driving growth across Africa and into South America.

In Madagascar, DGC has partnered with MC Mining to form DGC Madagascar. In West Africa, DGC West Africa is being established in Côte d’Ivoire in collaboration with Mining & Civil Services. The company is entering the South American market with a new partnership with DME Engenharia in Brazil, operating as DGC Latam.

The company concludes that its ongoing expansions across Africa and South America embody its core values and operational philosophy, aiming to deepen its engagement and influence in the regions it serves.
