Brazil-based major aerospace and defence group Embraer has reported on its commercial aircraft deliveries for the first nine months of this year (9M22), as well as those during the third quarter (3Q22). At the end of 3Q22, the group’s firm order backlog was worth $17.8-billion, which was, Embraer stated, “stable compared with the last quarter”.

In its commercial business, the company specialises in single-aisle airliners with 150 seats or less, and indeed is the world’s leading manufacturer in this category, as well as in light and midsize executive (or business) jets. It is also active in agricultural and military aviation, other defence sectors, and space.

During 9M22 the group delivered 27 commercial and 52 executive jets. (The executive jets were subdivided into 33 light and 19 midsize models.) Of these, ten commercial and 23 business jets were delivered during 3Q22.

Throughout the year so far, all of Embraer’s commercial jet deliveries were composed of just two of the types it offers: the E175 and the new generation E195-E2. E175 deliveries totalled 21, of which nine were delivered during 3Q22. Deliveries of the E195-E2, which is the largest airliner produced by the company, came to six for 9M22, of which one was delivered in 3Q22.

That sole E195-E2 delivery during the third quarter (to KLM Cityhopper) was, however, the 1 700th E-Jet to be delivered to a customer. E-Jets, both the original and the new (-E2) generation, have so far been delivered to more than 150 airlines and leasing companies, based in 50 countries.

Embraer currently has a commercial airliner firm order backlog of 297 aircraft. This is composed of 103 E175s, three E190s and 188 E195-E2s.

Regarding the 33 light business jets delivered in 9M22, five were Phenom 100s and 28 were Phenom 300s; during 3Q22, two Phenom 100s and 13 Phenom 300s were delivered. As for the 19 midsize business jets, nine of these were Praetor 500s and ten were Praetor 600s, of which four each were delivered during 3Q22.
