Engen Rocks the Daisies to Energise Mzansi’s Youth

Engen turned up the energy at the 20th anniversary of Rocking the Daisies, marking its debut at South Africa’s leading music and lifestyle festival with a vibrant activation that brought the brand’s Quickshop & Co., Café 365, and Brazmata Coffee Co. experiences to life.
As the exclusive water and coffee supplier at Rocking the Daisies 2025, Engen kept thousands of festivalgoers refreshed throughout the four-day celebration at Cloof Wine Estate in Darling, from 2–5 October.
The activation, designed to mirror Engen’s renowned 24/7 convenience store experience, created a true festival destination where fans could refuel, recharge and reconnect. Featuring live DJs, gaming stations, morning coffee raves, and a full range of Engen’s private-label products, the experience captured the spirit of Engen’s “always-on” commitment to its customers.
“Rocking the Daisies gave us the perfect opportunity to show that Engen is more than a fuel brand - we’re part of South African lifestyle and culture,” said Godfrey Vilakazi, Engen GM Marketing, Communications & External Affairs. “We want to be where our customers are, and for many young South Africans that means being present at events that celebrate music, creativity and community.”
Festivalgoers enjoyed an immersive taste of Engen’s convenience offering, including:
- Quickshop & Co. Water – the only water brand available at the festival
- Brazmata Coffee & Co. – fuelling early risers and morning revellers with barista-quality brews
- Café 365 – serving up fresh festival bites, from muffins to burgers and chicken strips
This activation forms part of Engen’s strategy to build deeper emotional connections with consumers and strengthen its cultural relevance among younger audiences as well as showcase its product offerings that resonate with younger consumers.
Reinforcing this commitment, Engen was once again named South Africa’s “Coolest Petroleum Brand” in the 2024 Sunday Times Generation Next Awards – for an incredible 15th consecutive year.
“Our connection with the youth goes beyond recognition – it’s about understanding their energy, their values, and their world,” added Vilakazi. “Through activations like Rocking the Daisies, we’re creating real experiences that show how Engen fits naturally into their everyday lives.”
With over 1,050 service stations nationwide and a growing network of Café 365, Brazmata Coffee Co. and Quickshop & Co. outlets, Engen continues to lead innovation in South African convenience and lifestyle retailing - ensuring that every stop, and every experience, reminds customers that: With us you are Number One.
