Turnkey steel service centre Fargo Steel Fabrication aims to streamline the complexities that occur during engineered projects by eliminating the need for companies or individuals to utilise multiple service providers to complete a project.

“With our team of highly-skilled individuals, we have implemented several processes that ensure the product arrives at the customer’s door with outstanding precision and quality,” explains Fargo Steel Fabrication manager Andrea Giammartini.

She extrapolates, explaining that Fargo starts by investing in advanced design and engineering capabilities, helping to identify potential issues early on to ensure that the final product will meet the required specifications.

She notes that Fargo assesses every single drawing received to “troubleshoot” any potential issues that could hinder the quality of the final product, adding that the company will often create prototypes of the components, allowing for design validation, and will test different materials and manufacturing methods, making any necessary adjustments before committing to mass production.

“We often conduct numerous stretch tests and offsets on our material. The steel we purchase often differs in terms of grade, so we must ensure that all our design factors, such as material parameters, are suitable and precise for each batch we receive,” elaborates Giammartini.

She adds that Fargo uses advanced machining and fabrication techniques to achieve precise dimensions and tolerances. Additionally, it employs computer numerical control machining equipment to cut, shape and finish metal components with high accuracy.

She stresses that the company has “always had a culture of reinvesting for the potential of future growth”.

“With our latest Amada Tube Laser, which we recently purchased, we are entering new markets such as solar, balustrades and diffusers. We are constantly purchasing new machinery to diversify our capabilities, thus benefiting our clients and the market as a whole,” she explains.

Giammartini emphasises that integrated into every stage of the fabrication process at Fargo is quality control, with inspections being conducted at “key milestones” to verify the accuracy of dimensions, check for defects or imperfections, and ensure compliance with customer requirements.

She notes that, with the commercial and residential sectors tending to be more bespoke, detail-orientated and on tighter deadlines, Fargo offers a 24-hour operation, allowing for an expedited turnaround on projects.
