Project Owner/s
Renewable-energy provider Scatec will own 51% of the equity in the project, with H1 Holdings, Scatec’s local black economic-empowerment partner, owning 46.5%; and the Grootfontein local community trust 2.5%.
Project Description
The project involved the construction of three solar power plants with a combined capacity of 273 MW, resulting in the abatement of 630 000 t/y of CO2.
The power plant generate 700 GWh/y of clean energy, making it the largest co-located solar PV cluster in the Western Cape.
The project will generate predictable revenues from a 20-year power purchase agreement.
