GT1 appoints Altris to lead Seymour DFS

GT1 MD Cameron Henry says there is 'real momentum' in the critical minerals market in Canada.
Australia-listed Green Technology Metals (GT1) has appointed engineering consultancy Altris Engineering to optimise and lead the definitive feasibility study (DFS) for its Seymour lithium project in Ontario.
GT1 MD Cameron Henry said on Monday that the appointment came as momentum continued to build in Canada’s critical minerals sector. “I have spent the past few weeks in Canada attending the Ontario Critical Minerals Forum, and it has been incredible to see firsthand the government’s strong focus on critical minerals development and supply chain security. There is real momentum in the market, and it is an exciting time for the sector,” he said.
Henry added that GT1 continued to view itself as undervalued but remained focused on project execution. “GT1 remains significantly undervalued in our view, but we are executing on everything we said we would – advancing our projects, engaging with communities and partners, and maintaining our disciplined approach. We are well positioned to accelerate development in the first quarter of 2026, aligned with the anticipated lithium market recovery, and Seymour will be ready to move rapidly toward construction, positioning GT1 to become Ontario’s first lithium producer at an optimal point in the cycle."
Altris MD Michael Ehlers said the consultancy was pleased to take on the lead role in the feasibility work. “The Seymour project represents a unique opportunity to establish the province’s first lithium production, and our team is excited to begin contributing to its development,” he said.
“We look forward to applying our expertise in hard rock mining feasibility studies to optimise the site layout, water and waste management strategies, and overall project design. Our goal is to deliver practical, high-quality solutions that help GT1 achieve a positive final investment decision and advance Seymour toward production."
GT1 said it remained in cash-conservation mode but continued to prioritise critical path items for permitting and development. The company would carry out internal work where possible while relying on Altris to lead specialised technical studies required for approvals.
