High pressure clean-in-place pump now available
CLEAN-IN-PROCESS PUMP The Brubin BA Clean-In-Process (CIP) pump has a patent pending designed pump-wheel that will allow the pressing shoes to retract for efficient CIP
Peristaltic hose pumps provider Brubin Pumps – a division of pumping solution provider Letaba Pumps – has set the benchmark in developing a solution for easier and better clean-in-place (CIP) pumps, says Brubin GM Hannes Liebenberg.
The new Brubin BA CIP pump has a patent pending designed pump wheel that will allow the pressing shoes to retract – and not to compress the hose for an efficient CIP process.
In the Brubin Pumps peristaltic pumps range, the company offers the CIP pump-wheel option – and it can be fitted professionally in the Brubin workshop and manufacturing facility.
“This specific and unique wheel was developed to meet the requirements of the company’s industrial customers from the food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals manufacturing, sugar mills, biogas and biofuel industries, to name a few,” the company explains.
The company further adds that the CIP pump can also meet the requirements within the mining industry in flocculent, sodium isobutyl xanthate and effluent liquids dosing applications, especially in laboratories, pilot plants and in the smaller process plants where batching and intermittent duties mean frequent flushing and cleaning to ensure noncontamination to ensure a safer, cleaner and green environment.
“The working principle allows users, by simply reversing the direction of rotation of the pump at ½ turn, to be able to retract the shoes automatically in order to complete the cleaning and sterilisation operations, without any action on the pump. The client saves time and will keep the highest level of functionality in the process.”
Liebenberg comments that the pump is designed with a minimum use of moving parts and requires a minimum amount of maintenance, all to guarantee a maximum amount of function and production time.
“The new CIP wheel, in combination with Brubin Pumps’ leading design and exceptional long hose lifetime, creates more effective production processes,” he says.
Meanwhile, the company adds that the Brubin BA peristaltic pumps are used for the transfer of all type of fluids, such as viscous, abrasive, corrosive and fibrous fluids with particles.
“The advantage of this technology is that it does not damage or shear the pumped fluid while maintaining a high level of hygiene. Only the inner part of the hose, which can be natural rubber (NR) approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), ethylene propylene diethyl methane (EPDM) approved by the FDA or nitrile, buna-n rubber (NBR) approved by the FDA, is in contact with the pumped fluid,” the company explains.
Brubin pumps can offer food grade hoses in NR, EPDM and NBR and meet the certifications of European Conformity 1935/2004 as well as the FDA CFR21 177.2600 – which is regarding the manufacturing of rubber in contact with food.
The internal of the hose is white (NR FDA and EPDM FDA) or black (NBR FDA) according to the pumped fluid.
The CIP pump wheel is now available on several models, Liebenberg adds, explaining that it is available for flows from 0.5 m3/h up to 10 m3/h. The maximum discharge pressure can reach 15 bars.
“Brubin BA peristaltic pumps are seal- less and can run dry without damage. With the new Brubin BA CIP series, we provide better pumps solutions,” the company concludes.
