MOVING FORWARD The relocation represents a strategic step towards the future and will allow Bearings 2000 to better serve the sector
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION Moving premises has enabled an increased stock carrying capacity, thereby allowing Bearings 2000 to offer a wider range of products, within their bearings, power transmissions and seals product ranges, as well as quicker turnaround times
BEARING IN MIND Bearings 2000 aims to continue emphasising the importance of a value-based culture while fostering continuous learning and growth to meet the evolving demands of the industry
To better serve customers, national industrial supplies specialist Bearings 2000 relocated its Durban hub in September from Umbilo to a larger, more strategically positioned premises in Riverhorse Valley, both in KwaZulu-Natal.
The new location is more central, making the hub more accessible to customers in the surrounding areas, says Bearings 2000 sales and marketing director Michael Stamatiadis.
“This centralisation aligns with the company’s commitment to providing convenience for customers.”
The move has also allowed for increased stock-carrying capacity, thereby enabling the company to offer a wider range of products within its bearings, power transmissions and seals product ranges, as well as quicker turnaround times.
To this end, enhanced infrastructure and warehouse management systems at the new premises allow for improved inventory handling to benefit customers through faster and more accurate service, enthuses Bearings 2000 MD Ross Trevelyan.
With safety being a priority for the company, the new hub is located in a secured office park, with Bearings 2000 operations director Alex Stamatiadis describing the new hub facility as a “paradigm shift”.
“We’ve reimagined branch functions, streamlined processes and harnessed our technological strengths. This innovation sets the tone for our branches countrywide, hinting at potential future expansions,” he says.
Meanwhile, the company aims to continue emphasising the importance of a value-based culture while fostering continuous learning and growth to meet the evolving demands of the industry.
Trevelyan adds that the relocation represents a strategic step towards the future and will allow the company to better serve the sector, noting that Bearings 2000 remains dedicated to its core values, which include trust, respect and authenticity.
“As it continues to evolve, the company looks forward to enhancing its products and services, expanding its reach, and staying at the forefront of innovation in the bearings industry. Customers can expect ongoing updates and an unwavering commitment to their requirements in the new, enhanced environment,” he concludes.
