Industrial lubrication solutions provider Lubrication Engineers (LE) South Africa is supplying its Monolec engine oils in 5 ℓ and 1 ℓ containers to accommodate the requirements of bakkies and small trucks in the local agriculture sector.

LE South Africa national sales manager Llewellyn Owen says end-users will be able to access these, and other similar products, without needing to buy large quantities.

“We understand that farmers need to stretch their rand, protect equipment and keep businesses running. This is why we’re developing value packs for agricultural applications. The right lubrication, applied at the correct interval and dose, can help farmers minimise downtime and keep equipment running optimally.”

He adds that these value packs are designed to be an all-in-one package, as they highlight the use of high engine oil, gearbox oil, differential oil, top-quality grease that can deal with environmental factors, and full torque, which acts as a diesel enhancer.

The decision to introduce these containers has been prompted by demand from end-users for smaller quantities to be made available for diesel fleets, tractors, trailers, bakkies, motorcycles and other farming equipment.

“We previously focused purely on the bulk supply of engine oils to industry and, as a result, there were never smaller quantities made available,” he enthuses.

In addition, the company has a dedicated ISO 9 0001-certified decant room where all transfer of product on this line is handled. Strict quality control, including batch numbers, are recorded on every 1 ℓ and 5 ℓ container that is packaged.

For bakkies, trucks and mobile equipment engines, Owen recommends Monolec engine oil LE 8700 or LE 8800, which are designed to increase fuel efficiency, dependable performance and wear protection.

The LE 8800 engine oil provides extended drained service for on- and off-road diesel engines, including stationary engines.

It is also one of the few available diesel engine lubrication products that was specifically formulated for low-emission and ultralow sulphur diesel engines while remaining compatible for use in older engines.

The LE 8700 engine oil is designed to last 50 000 km before needing to change the oil, while LE 8800 engine oil will last 100 000 km.

“Both are exceptional diesel engine oils that provide exceptional extended oil-drain intervals. It contains a superior base-stock formulation, as well as a shear-stable viscosity improver. They are also refined and polished with one of LE’s unique additives - Monolec – an exclusive additive to LE.”

Owen adds that the product is enhanced with high-quality base oil and oxidation inhibitors, preventing excessive thickening and deposit formation usually found in diesel oils.

“If this is not enough, it is further strengthened with a combination of wear-reducing agents, keeping parts clean and providing maximum engine life.”

Additionally, the company also offers the Monolec gear lubricant 703 or 704 for differentials and transmission. It meets the requirements of all types of differentials (including limited slip) and transmissions, as well as most industrial enclosed gearboxes.

“It’s formulated to achieve the proper balance between load-carrying capacity, film strength and lubricity, and will keep agricultural machinery operating with maximum efficiency.”

The product also contains the LE Monolec additive, which reduces wear between two moving parts, and is documented doing so in many applications.

Owen explains that the company can assist farmers in creating a comprehensive reliability programme for a range of different equipment, including tractors and trucks and other agricultural machinery. This also involves the sharing of best practices to protect equipment, increase production, and save money and time.

He argues that ongoing field-to-lab oil analysis is critical for the success of any old or newly implemented lubrication reliability programme. It has also occurred on numerous occasions, after inspecting or advising on an ongoing lubrication reliability programme, that lubrication had been mixed and contamination levels were rendered unacceptable.

“We analyse trends for lubrication reliability programmes to the exact condition of the supplied lubrication products and email reports to our clients timeously. “By doing this, our clients are always in control of their reliability programmes, they improve the breakdown rates dramatically and instantly improve their preventive maintenance programmes.”

LE South Africa will advise on complete solution packages, which clients can implement in stages, as well as all product knowledge needed to correctly train staff.

The company has slowly been making progress in the agriculture market and aims to make its product range available to all industries. This includes farm-equipment solutions, as well as a range of food-grade processing solutions.

“We plan on introducing more products and knowledge through this sector in the coming years. “We are going to have our brand at more shows, we will supply valuable product training and our technical sales team will introduce the benefits of the LE solution brand more extensively,” he concludes.
