Concrete equipment manu-facturer and supplier Pan Mixers South Africa (PMSA) has secured the contract to locally distribute a range of products, including concrete pumps, from Italy-based concrete technology company Turbosol Pumps.

The official distribution contract and partnership were ann-ounced at international trade fair for construction machinery and building material bauma Africa in September last year.

“PMSA supplies a full range of concrete pumps which can pump concrete from 30 m3/h to 120 m3/h, but the company did not have the concrete pumps which can pump below the 30m3/h range,” PMSA marketing manager Quintin Booysen tells Engineering News, explaining that the Turbosol range fills the gap, with its pumps being able to pump concrete of 2 m3/h to 30 m3/h.

The Turbosol pumps enable PMSA to provide easy-to-use, cost-effective and on-site pumping for smaller-scale projects, where using large concrete pumps is not always feasible or a solution, Booysen points out.

The company aims to cultivate stronger relationships with small- and medium-sized building contractors working on rural projects, and to provide the required pumping solution to support the supply of on-site concrete production, he adds.

In addition, the biggest poten- tial for growth in the concrete pumps industry lies with the smaller emerging contractors, who are becoming involved with projects using their own concrete equipment, Booysen points out.

Meanwhile, PMSA expects the partnership with Turbosol Pumps to also enhance technology support with regard to the distribution of the concrete pumps, as the equipment can be passed to clients to enhance their effi- ciency on project construction sites, he notes.

Further, Booysen comments that the company currently runs monthly industry sessions on different concrete equipment topics. In July, interested parties will be invited to attend an open workshop on the new concrete pump range.

Booysen notes that the Turbosol range is ideal for builders, contractors and the mining and pump rental market, while its plastering machine is suitable for pumping, con- veying, and applying a range of common mortars, lime and/or cement-based mortars and cement-based ready-mixed plasters.

The Giotto plastering machine range is another feature of the Turbosol range, which is designed to apply cement-based, gypsum-based and insulating ready-mixed dry plasters easily and quickly, even in small spaces.

In addition, the Turbosol Apemat 190 E screed-mixing and conveying machine deals with mixing and conveying, screeds, mortars, plasters, grouts and concretes in limited operational spaces, Booysen adds.

He notes that the Beton Master concrete pump pre- sents a solution for the pumping of concrete, microcon-crete, mortar and shotcrete in Africa, and is well suited to match PMSA’s Fiori range of self-loading concrete mixers on project sites, as the machines complement each other and are, therefore, well suited to be used together on project sites in both urban and rural areas, he concludes.
