London-listed Pathfinder Minerals has completed the reverse takeover of Canada-based exploration company Rome Resources, which owns tin projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

As a result of the reverse takeover, Pathfinder’s new name is Rome Resources.

The company also raised about £4-million through the issue of 1.33-million new ordinary shares with a nominal value of 0.1p each at an issue price of 0.30p a share.

"Today marks a new beginning and we are hugely pleased to have successfully delivered Rome Resources to London's Aim market while raising about £4-million.

“The fundraise demonstrates the appetite among investors for the projects in the DRC and enables us to advance exploration workstreams, as we seek to move the projects up the value chain.

“Our firm view is that Bisie North has the potential to be a highly strategic tin project to global supply. I look forward with much enthusiasm to updating shareholders in the months ahead," says Rome Resources CEO Paul Barrett.

Rome Resources has identified three prospective areas with high-grade tin-in-soil anomalies identified.

Its projects are in close proximity to JSE-listed Alphamin Resources' Mpama North mine, which is considered to be one of the world’s highest-grade tin mines.
