PRASA places former acting CEO Mphelo on suspension

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa's (PRASA's) board has decided to place the entity's chief information officer David Mphelo on suspension, with immediate effect, while an investigation is undertaken into his conduct while he served as acting CEO of the group from November 2021 to August this year.

The PRASA board on November 9 received a report regarding "serious allegations" against Mphelo.

The allegations relate to irregularities in recruitment and procurement.
