Shell Downstream South Africa (SDSA) is an integrated energy company with a rich South African culture through its 120-year presence in the country. Shell uses gas-to-liquids technology that turns natural gas into high-quality liquid fuels, base oils for lubricants, and other liquid products usually made from oil. It is founded on more than 45 years of research, development, and commercial experience.
The company prides itself in forming close relationships with local mining communities where they operate. SDSA is intentional about skills transfer in mining communities to ensure economic inclusivity and sustainability.
The enterprise development programs are designed for beneficiation of local communities. The company has rolled out initiatives supporting agriculture, clean energy sources as well as educational development programs.
