Solutions specially designed for protection of data
COMPACT UPS These compact microprocessor-controlled UPS systems have an electronic automatic voltage regulator
South Africa-based electrical and digital infrastructure product supplier Legrand Electrical’s extensive range of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems have buttons and light-emitting diode, known as LED, signalling that provide real-time control of the status of the UPS systems.
Legrand notes that the systems encompass solutions designed especially for the protection of data in small offices, commercial environments and home applications.
The Niky and Niky S UPS single-phase systems, which ensure a safe and reliable power supply from 600 VA to 3 000 VA, have been developed by Legrand for quick installation and easy configuration, the company enthuses.
These compact microprocessor-controlled UPS systems have an electronic automatic voltage regulator, an intelligent communication interface and integrated self-diagnostics that provide reliable protection of the installation.
Other features include a cold start function, an RS-232 or universal serial bus, known as USB, interface and modem or local-area network, known as LAN, telephone protection.
Niky line interactive UPS systems – which are single phase VI systems, with International Electrotechnical Commission multisocket outlets and a pseudosinusoidal waveform – offer a backup time between five and 30 minutes.
This system, the company notes, offers advanced management according to the battery discharge level.
Niky S line interactive UPS – single phase VI-SS systems have a sinusoidal waveform output, “excellent” voltage regulation and intelligent battery management – offer protection against voltage peaks, as well as overload and short-circuit protection.
“The backup time of this system, which is either eight or nine minutes, is measured under optimum operating conditions,” the company notes.
A range of communications accessories has been designed for managing and configuring the UPS, as well as for remote control of the system.
“These UPS systems are available in convenient, user-friendly packaging and are supported throughout the country by Legrand and its carefully selected distributor network,” the company concludes.
