The Competition Tribunal has unconditionally approved the proposed merger whereby Mpact Operations intends to increase its shareholding in Seyfert Corrugated Western Cape.

Mpact Operations is ultimately controlled by JSE-listed Mpact, which controls numerous firms which form part of the Mpact group of companies.

Mpact (and all the firms it controls) is the largest paper, plastics and recycling business in Southern Africa. Its corrugated packaging products are of relevance to this proposed merger.

Seyfert is a Western Cape-based manufacturer of a range of converted corrugated cardboard, boxes and packaging products for the wine, industrial and agricultural industries.
