The intersection of mining safety and Hexagon technology will be explored at Wampex in a Gold Fields Ghana presentation by Daniel Korsah, Manager Asset Optimisation Ghana (Tarkwa and Damang).

The presentation on 'Harnessing Technology to Strengthen Safety Culture' highlights the role of technology at Gold Fields Tarkwa, in creating a safer, more productive mining environment. Equipped with real data and insights derived from Hexagon’s safety solutions, including the Collision Avoidance System and Personal Alert, attendees can learn more about how the power of technology has been harnessed to create a comprehensive safety platform, that has proven transformative in enhancing Tarkwa’s safety culture.

The presentation will take place at 14:45 on May 29, at the Accra International Convention Centre, Meeting Room 1.

Tarkwa saw a 91% reduction in fatigue-related incidents after deploying OAS, with operational shifts running entire quarters without a single fatigue event being recorded. Korsah, who joined GFG in 2011, explains the company’s safety journey with Hexagon in a series of videos available on the Hexagon website
