Global water technology provider Xylem Water Solutions South Africa opened its new branch in Port Elizabeth last month, with the launch of the new facility intended to extend the service offering to Xylem’s customer base in the Eastern Cape. This move is in line with Xylem’s commitment to provide world-class pump and water solutions for customers within their area of operations.

Xylem Water Solutions South Africa is a thought leader in the water industry, providing tailor-made solutions throughout the water cycle. The company owns several globally renowned pump brands, including Lowara, Godwin and Flygt. With its new base of oper-ations in Port Elizabeth, Xylem is poised to address clients’ needs with a host of superior products, right on their doorstep.

“We have been active in the Eastern Cape for many years, servicing the area from our branch in Cape Town through a locally based representative. With this experience, we decided that a direct approach to the market with full on-site, local representation would benefit our existing customers and allow us to diversify into the Eastern Cape market,” explains Xylem South Africa sales director Bennie Thiart.

With the official opening of the new branch on September 2, the Xylem team has identified special top-line products that will greatly benefit clients in a variety of sectors. The newly released Lowara e-NSC high-efficiency end-suction pumps range will be available from the branch. This range has been specifically developed for the agricultural and building services markets. In addition, residential offerings on off-the-shelf small booster and submersible pumps are now available to the public.

For the public utilities market, the Flygt sub-mersible wastewater pumps with sustained efficiency will also be available on site. In addition, the new branch has a local rental fleet to help with construction, dewatering and municipality bypass requirements.

The Port Elizabeth branch will service the entire Eastern Cape, focusing on Port Elizabeth as a metropolis, but also delivering remote services directly or through strategically placed partners. However, the opening of the new branch in Port Elizabeth is only the start to Xylem’s commitment to developments in the Eastern Cape. “Xylem SA is committed not only to helping solve water pumping and treatment issues, but also to contributing to the local community and economy as the new branch grows and generates more jobs and business opportunities.”

With its expansion and reified presence in the Eastern Cape, Xylem South Africa is poised to assist clients in every facet of the water cycle, with a deep commitment to local communities and unparalleled support to clients.

Xylem is a leading global water technology provider, enabling customers to transport, treat, test and efficiently use water in public utility, residential and commercial building services, as well as industrial and agricultural settings.

The company does business in more than 150 countries through a number of market-leading product brands and its people bring broad applications expertise with a strong focus on finding local solutions to the world’s most chal-lenging water and wastewater problems.
