Founded in 1984, Weartech has established a highly-respected reputation as a trusted specialist supplier of welding, thermal spray and other speciality products.

Weartech offers a comprehensive range of products for use in wear, corrosion and hard-facing applications as well as maintenance and fabrication. Part of the Weartech range is the supply of specialist laser cladding equipment.

Laser cladding is an innovative method used in the repair and manufacture of hydraulic cylinders. Hydraulic cylinders often operate in harsh environ-ments and laser cladding is particularly effective in protecting cylinders from rust and corrosion. The powdered coating material is blown onto the workpiece and then melted by laser, so that it bonds metallurgically to the piston rod. This method creates more stable protective layers than hard chromium plating and new technologies have vastly increased the process speed.

Modern lasers can be used for a wide array of coating applications, including:

  • Remanufacturing/repair welding
  • Wear and corrosion protection
  • 3-D printing or additive manufacturing
  • Surface enhancement
  • Coating of boiler tubes
  • Coating of components in the oil and gas industry

With three divisions operating nationwide, Weartech offers a wide variety of products – all of which complement each other in the specific industries that Weartech serves.

Its extensive product range allows Weartech to offer customers single-supplier simplicity. Weartech’s team of highly experienced staff recommend the products best suited to meet every customer’s individual needs and Weartech’s skilled technicians offer in-house and on-site service, training and repairs.
