Agricultural Business Chamber (Agbiz) has appointed Dr Charl van der Merwe as the new manager of the organisation’s grain desk, succeeding Wessel Lemmer.

Van der Merwe has 27 years of experience in the agriculture industry, particularly in grain handling, procurement, market analysis and strategic development.

He has held key roles across the grain value chain, including positions at major agriculture organisations NWK, Suidwes Landbou and Tiger Brands.

On the Agbiz grain desk he will oversee policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement and industry representation to ensure the grain industry remains competitive and sustainable.
