Company unveils cordless metal cutting circular saw
Heavy-duty, portable electric power tools and accessories manufacturer Milwaukee Tools has developed the industry’s first cordless 20.3 cm metal cutting circular saw.
The M18 FUEL 20.3 cm metal cutting circular saw will be available this month and will ship with one of the company’s new metal cutting circular saw blades which will be launched later this year.
Generating 15 amperage corded power on a cordless platform, this new solution is “designed to perform in the toughest applications” without slowing users down.
The introduction of the first cordless 20.3 cm metal cutting circular saw is a significant achievement for the M18 System and a huge step forward for productivity in metal cutting, says Milwaukee Tools group product manager Kevin Gee.
“Through our advanced M18 FUEL cordless technology, we are able to deliver a 20.3 cm metal cutting circular saw that not only surpasses the speed of corded saws but does so with a larger cutting capacity than any cordless metal cutting circular saw.”
Meanwhile, with Milwaukee’s M18 Redlithium Battery technology, the tool eliminates the hassle of cords and delivers the power to cut up to 120 inches in corrugated decking a charge.
He explains that in conjunction with Redlink Plus Intelligence and a Powerstate Brushless Motor, the M18 Redlithium Battery provides users with all-day runtime – ensuring maximum performance and protection from overload, overheating and overdischarge.
Like the corded model, the new metal cutting saw provides users with a cold cutting solution for thicker metals. An Overload Indicator Light illuminates when users push the saw too hard and a durable blade shield with integrated chip collection deflects and collects metal chips and sparks.
He concludes that this new tool is part of the M18 System and offers more than 200 power tool solutions. Milwaukee is committed to improving productivity by providing performance-driven and trade-focused solutions so users can perform an entire day’s work on one battery system.
