Engen employee Nisha Sathiapaul has once again used Engen's Employee Community Partnership Programme (ECPP) to raise vital funds for The Sanctuary.

The Sanctuary is an NPO located in the Durban suburb of Newlands East, offering hope for impoverished families through monthly food hampers, shelter for the needy, counselling, educational empowerment programmes for the unemployed, and support for persons battling with HIV/Aids and addiction.

In response to The Sanctuary's need for funding, Engen Lubricants Supply Planner, Nisha recently stepped up for the 9th consecutive year and leveraged the ECPP to again raise vital funds for The Sanctuary.

Through Nisha's efforts, R5,000 from an ECPP grant will be used to provide food hampers to HIV/Aids victims, abused women, orphaned children, and impoverished families.

Additionally, the money will assist in offering shelter and counselling services, profoundly impacting the lives of those in need and providing them with renewed hope and improved living conditions.

Dr. Grace Baruth, Chairman of The Sanctuary, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Engen for the company’s support over the years, emphasising the crucial role it plays in sustaining the NPO's operations.

"The community greatly benefits from these contributions," says Dr. Baruth.

Nisha’s personal involvement at The Sanctuary spans various initiatives, including coordinating feeding schemes, providing counselling to widows, addicts, and teenagers, and facilitating empowerment courses for vulnerable groups.

It is a dedication that reflects Engen's commitment to making a positive impact in local communities.

Comments Engen CSI Manager, Olwethu Mdabula: “As a company that cares deeply about the communities in which it operates, it is important for Engen to actively back NPO’s such as The Sanctuary who do some much to support and uplift those in need.

“Engen remains steadfast in its support of initiatives like The Sanctuary, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to helping create meaningful change and improving lives across South Africa.”
