The Gautrain Management Agency (GMA) has secured ISO certification for its Integrated Management System (IMS), demonstrating full compliance with internationally recognised standards in quality (ISO 9001), environmental management (ISO 14001), and occupational health and safety (ISO 45001), as certified by DQS in South Africa.

“This milestone affirms the GMA’s position as a forward-looking public entity committed to aligning its operations with global best practices in quality management, environmental sustainability and the health and safety of its workforce and stakeholders,” the entity said in a statement.

The ISO certification also serves as a foundation for enhanced accountability, improved service delivery and strengthened stakeholder confidence, the GMA adds.

The entity asserts that it will enable the GMA to streamline its processes, reduce environmental impact and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Speaking at the official certificate handover, DQS South Africa's Francois Labuschagne highlighted the broader impact of the achievement.

“This ISO certification supports 16 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. It is a phenomenal accomplishment worthy of celebration, symbolising GMA’s contribution to sustainability and excellence,” he said.

GMA CEO Tshepo Kgobe said that the certification reflected the collective commitment and capability of the entire organisation.

“I applaud the team’s expertise, resilience, and commitment to excellence, which reflects the high standards that can be achieved within the public sector,” he added.
