A new range of high-speed, A4 sheet-fed scanners that offer integrated WiFi, network and open platform capabilities has been developed to meet the needs of organisations with high-volume scanning turnover.

The scanners are designed to enhance integration, fleet efficiency and end-user experience, helping to simplify document management, digitalisation and automated workflows.

Recently launched by Epson,  the  DS-800WN and DS-900WN products feature scan speeds of up 70 pages/minute, while the Web-based open platform operating system means users are not dependent on desktop system platforms and associated updates. The scanners also enable integration with Epson in-house solutions and third-party independent software vendor solutions, simplifying network and fleet management.

The scanners are said to deliver advanced image processing and versatile document handling, and low power consumption. The integrated network allows the scanners to be shared by multiple users, with user authentication enabling the creation of personalised settings and workflows, as well as improving document security. Further, the LCD display allows for operation directly from the scanner without the need for a desktop computer.

The new scanners offer centralised set-up and management and contain up to 30% recycled plastic.
