Techs4Biz - Pervidi Unveils AI-Powered Paperless Inspections for Smarter and Safer Mining
The mining industry is at a pivotal moment where the balance of safety, compliance and operational efficiency determines long-term success. At the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC), Techs4Biz is introducing its AI-powered, paperless inspection platform: a transformative solution designed to elevate mining operations in both open-cut and underground environments.
For decades, mining inspections relied on cumbersome paper logbooks and handwritten reports. These traditional processes were slow, prone to errors, and often resulted in lost or delayed documentation. Critical safety concerns could take days to be recorded and actioned, increasing risks in one of the world most demanding industries. Pervidi has changed this model by equipping inspectors with a fully digital solution that runs seamlessly on mobile devices, including rugged and intrinsically safe devices suitable for underground operations. Whether underground or at remote sites, with or without network connectivity, inspectors can now capture and process data in real time, ensuring compliance records and corrective actions remain accurate, timely, and accessible.
Safety and efficiency are non-negotiable in mining, said Naaman Shibi, VP at Techs4Biz.
“Our AI-powered platform provides tools that enable mining professionals to make faster, smarter decisions while prioritising workforce safety. We are proud to present this innovation at IMARC, where the global mining community comes together to shape the future of our industry”.
At the heart of Pervidis platform is the integration of Artificial Intelligence, which is redefining how inspections are conducted. AI image recognition enables inspectors to photograph equipment, such as heavy machinery, conveyors, structures or electrical installations, with the system instantly analysing images to detect defects like cracks, missing parts, corrosion, or wear. This capability reduces reliance on subjective judgment, accelerates early detection, and prevents minor faults from developing into serious, costly failures. Another powerful feature is voice-to-text functionality, which supports hands-free reporting in hazardous conditions. Inspectors can record spoken observations during inspections, and these comments are transcribed automatically into structured reports. This improves accuracy while allowing inspectors to remain focused on their environment.
AI further enhances the process by summarising voice entries and suggesting corrective actions, creating efficiency while reducing administrative workload. Pervidi also transforms toolbox talks, a critical element of safety culture in mining. Traditionally managed with paper forms and handwritten notes, toolbox talks can now be delivered and recorded via mobile devices. AI generates concise, shareable summaries that ensure safety discussions are documented, easily referenced, and available across departments and shifts. This creates a higher level of accountability and reinforces a proactive safety culture.
Beyond immediate reporting, Pervidi enables long-term insights through advanced data analysis. The platform compares inspection results across time periods to identify recurring defects, track asset performance, and confirm the effectiveness of corrective actions. This trend analysis strengthens compliance, improves risk management, and gives decision-makers clear evidence of progress or decline. In addition, predictive analytics forecast potential equipment failures before they occur, enabling proactive maintenance strategies that minimise unplanned downtime, extend asset lifespans, and prioritise worker safety.
The benefits of AI-powered, paperless inspections are already evident in both open-cut and underground mining operations. Companies using Pervidi report faster turnaround of compliance documentation, more accurate safety data, and improved collaboration between departments. By integrating photographic evidence, voice tags, and automated reporting, Pervidi ensures that managers, contractors, and regulators share a single source of verifiable truth. This alignment not only supports compliance but also builds resilience and efficiency across mining operations.
Looking forward, AI-powered inspections platforms are poised to reshape the future of mining. As the sector continues to embrace digital transformation, advancements in artificial intelligence will enhance predictive capabilities, from recognising patterns in equipment behaviour to anticipating environmental risks. Inspections will evolve into a fully digital ecosystem, where safety, quality, and productivity are continuously monitored in real time, helping mines achieve sustainable outcomes. By empowering mining professionals to safeguard people, optimise assets, and strengthen long-term operational performance, Techs4Biz through its Pervidi platform is setting a new benchmark for inspection and compliance technology in the resources sector.
